Why IERD

chair
Impact Evaluation Research for Development is a consortium established to bridge the capacity gap between the academia and the actual level of monitoring and evaluation skill sets, competencies and expertise required to transform M&E graduates to M&E experts with practical skills and innovative solutions to generate quality data for better decision making which guarantees achievement of targets and objectives for projects. Through innovative training approaches, IERD provides a unique opportunity for networking to both upcoming and skilled M&E experts dealing with different projects.

We partner with organizations to conduct Baseline studiesMid Term Reviews(MTRs) as well as Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) for their projects.

Baseline Studies/ Surveys

The aim of a baseline establish the current status of intended beneficiaries before a project is rolled out. The results of a baseline study act as a benchmark for measuring project success or failure. At IERD, we emphasize the importance of baseline studies as a part of any M&E process.

Mid Term Reviews (MTRs)

The aim of the MTRs is to identify challenges and prescribe corrective actions to ensure that a project is on track to achieve maximum results by its completion.  This is a requirement for most donor-funded projects. At IERD, we ensure that the MTRs are conducted using scientific approaches and with quality incorporate as much evidence as possible. We work closely with project M&E team to ensure skills transfer and promote project ownership.

Post Implementation  Reviews (PIRs)

The aim of the PIRs is to ensure that the project did not just come to an end but it delivered on the intended objectives which is the real measure of success. It is also essential to evaluate if the objectives were delivered in the most efficient way and if there is any further improvements that could deliver greater benefits. PIRs also ensure that lessons learned during the project are incorporated in the  design of future projects. We work closely with project M&E team to ensure that they understand and appreciate the PIR Process and the benefit it has on the organization.
